Ah, Trows lane. I know the one as I live in Littleborough and am an on and off Todmorden Angling Society member.
I haven't joined yet this year as I've been quite busy so not much time to get on the bank.

If you know the rd name then you're a local^_^
It's had quite a bit of money spent on the waters in the past 5 years or so and plenty of restocking, as I said the fb page shows the efforts of the committee....sadly Cowm top is going to be a housing estate so it will feel less rural.
I barely get out unless it's with my 5yo in tow but she loves it so I don't mind and I can drive there within a couple of minutes.
The management of Cargate just off Thornham lane was taken over a few years ago and the lad has done some sterling work there and is worth a nosey and membership isn't much.

Since this is a cycling forum, I will keep it based on that.

When I do touring/camping on my bike I take along a cheap Maxcatch Tenkara fishing rod, it "zooms" from 8'10" to some steps in between out to 12' 9", these don't require a reel, and all I have to take besides the rod is a small box of flies on one side and poppers on the other side, or I can use bait if I decide to buy some. Tenkara fishing is a lot like fly fishing just without the reel. This is a method of fishing that the Japanese have done for many years. I've caught quite a few fish with it.

Problem is when touring across state lines and plan on fishing you have to get a day license, Walmart and bait shops have them. Sometimes I stealth fish without a license, but I do catch and release with that rod, but that is still illegal without a license. I usually go after sunset, so my visibility is lower, but it's still a risk, so I don't to much fishing out of state unless it's very excluded, or if I'm spending more than a couple of days, I'll get a temp license.
