It is cover in that there is already a solicitor included in the price of membership that you can call in the event of injury.

Maybe so.

But personal injury cover means you get paid without having to take a 3rd party to court.

What you are describing is access to a solicitor. Now heaven forbid if any cycle chatters get seriously injured whilst cycling. They would most likely recruit a solicitor to pursue a damages claim.
I'm not saying that having a solicitor lined up isn't any good. Just that it is quite different from personal injury cover.

I see what you mean @kingrollo about personal injury cover vs legal advice (i.e. access to a solicitor).

Taking out personal injury cover will automatically cover any "injuries" that is claimed / requested to be treated and paid for.

Legal advice could lead to covering personal injury expenses if you decide to take the 3rd party (or whoever caused the incident / accident) to court and win the claim (I'm guessing the claim could also cover any material damages, loss of income, etc). But this is not guaranteed win and very much dependent on the event / how much to claim / court outcome, etc.

I pay £1.50 a month for LAKA

For what cover? Third party? Looking at their site it seems bundled with other stuff (Core) without the option. Linky?
The cyclePlan linked by another above comes out at £18 for third party only £1M. How likely is it that a cyclist will be successfully sued (having caused injury) for more than that? Negligible. I am not racing round Regent's Park nor cycling with no brakes in London town.

As an aside the British Sub Aqua Club 3rd party insurance seemed utterly useless as it said you were covered providing you had adhered to the written "safe diving practices". Given a third party claim would have to establish negligence to succeed and the insurance essentially only applied if you had not been negligent then it seems you would never actually be covered.
