I have the Lifeline one. Can't fault it!

I think a better way is to go for something like the Lidl kit, which at £25 is a steal, and then replace the tools with decent ones (like Park or IceToolz) as you go along.

I have to agree here. I've had one of the bigger/more expensive lifeline kits for the last 3 years and some of the tools are shockingly shite and some are great.

Bad:
Pedal spanner
Chain tool (broke on second use - don't even think of using on 1/8" chains)
Spoke keys (sharp edges scratch rims)
Small 3-way allen key (metal too soft, twisted)
Headset spanner for threaded hsets (simply not precise dimensions-wise)

Good (i.e. had lots of use/abuse and still good):
Cable cutters (not much different from Park)
Crank puller
Big crank bolt allen key (nice plastic sleeve and long for plenty of leverage)
Larger 3-way allen key
Shimano BB tool (although basic design)
Shimano cassette tool

The rest all seems OK.

Oh and there were a few things missing altogether which were needed:
Huge adjustable spanner
Anything Campag
Lockring spanner
Sockets/spanners

**EDIT**

That PBK kit looks better than both the others mentioned.
