Loctite for BB bolt? Any ideas?

@thedoctor: No worries mate :smile:

The old cup and cone square tapers BB's tend to come loose every now and then though, the cartridge ones don't tend to have this problem in my experience.

I have got a new Sram fixed gear crankset. I have decided to loctite the crank bolt as the old set used to keep on loosening.

Many thanks for all the advise.

Installation of Cartridge Bottom Bracket

Begin by preparing the threads of the bottom bracket. A thread locker may be used when the frame shell is steel and the cups are either aluminum or steel lockrings. A mild thread locking compound such as Loctite® #242 that is considered "service removable" is preferred. This means that the parts are removable with normal tools and without taking extreme measures. If no thread locking compound is available, grease threads heavily or ASC-1 Anti Seize Compound. Note it does only recommend for steel frames/BB shells
