You are bound to meet a less than perfect one every once in a while but , by and large, I think they are extremely considerate towards cyclists. I try and thank them when they are.

most are OK except the 25. all the drivers on that route are nutcases. no matter what time of day it is they cut you up, close pass, left hook. terrible
Generally I have no problem with buses except for some total idiocy in east London this year - Leyton and Romford Road spring to mind. Where does the 25 go?

You say they pull put on you... are they generally indicating to move away from the stop, as you approach or do they tend to dive right out as you are along side? If it's the former, then you need to anticipate it. As a rule it's good form to allow buses to pull out. If it's the latter then they are careless and dangerous. I sometimes come across the latter but it's generally rare - thankfully.

not sure where this is from ^^ but I keep a copy on my phone… too many bus drivers just go too fast for the roads in London, its not just cyclists they are a danger too.

i have started a new commute to work in the last month in London and i have noticed how bus drivers pull out from their bus stops in front of you even when you are overtaking them and show you no respect whatsoever . On my old commute i did not have much contact with buses
Your thoughts on the subject please

I adopt the same approach in car or on bike - if the bus is about to pull out, i let it without overtaking

If the bus is indicating, ease off a bit and let them go. Obviously if they pull out right on top of you then something needs to be done, make sure you're visible in their mirrors and maybe a few polite words to them or TfL might help. Bus drivers are by in large fantastic.

I find the bus drivers really good on my commute. There will always be times when it's 50/50 to who has right of way,but i'd much rather he go in front. A bus helps keep my lane free.

my own experience is mixed, I normally slow down. My only objection is when you are in the process of going past and they then bang on the indicator and try to pull out. On the whole I think they are only human and prone to mistakes like the rest of us.
Personally the way I look at it I wouldnt want their job. The fact they do it with long crappy hours and get treated like something you walk in.
I think on the whole most of them are fairly decent drivers doing a tough job

and thats a big if on the route 25. other routes that use the A11 don't seem to have the same problem

Good point

But why is it always bus drivers who do it

I have to say that I find bus drivers in London to be excellent on the whole.

One or two coach drivers have caused me to brake, swerve or squeak; but bus drivers' moves seem planned, indicated and easy to anticipate.

To answer you question above: "But why is it always bus drivers who do it?"

I think this is because buses in bus stops tend to be driven by bus drivers. It would be harder for a taxi driver to emerge in a bus from a bus stop.
