If you like spending a few hours looking at bike porn it's great.
If not....... then it's a waste of time.

I didn't (having not been to one before), but that has just made the wife quite happy, I think she was concerned with me going and taking the credit card....

It's an exhibition to show off the latest gear.
they usually do have a small retail section, but this is usually limited to clothing.

Oh really? I imagined it having loads of stalls aswell as stands to look and buy from. Well may still give it a bash. Anybody know of any discount codes for entry?

Go thelondonbikeshow.co.uk , pre book your ticket and it'll cost you £16, rather than £20 on the door.
Saying that, there is a £1.95 booing fee! You get a choice of having it posted (at a cost of £1.25) or having it e-mailed so you print it. They also seem to be offering a free copy of Rouleur, if you type Rouleur in the discount box. You then get a voucher to print off to claim a copy at the Rouleur stand.
I went last year and enjoyed browsing, got there early before it got rammed! Going on the Friday this year so hopefully it won't be as crouded so quickly!
I don't mind crouds, it's the individuals in them I don't like! Possibly why I enjoy being on my bike.:giggle:

I've been to the last two. It was ok for a freebie (managed to get tickets from a friend of a friend). I probably won't bother this year as £16/20 just to look at a bit of bike bling doesn't really seem worth it.

Bit late to this one but I've been a couple of times, once when I was working for a bike company and once again free for another reason.

I find it disappointing, there does seem to be a lot of looking at new stuff and very limited point to it in my mind especially when you have to pay to get in.

I did however, get some awesome socks for free one year. Go figure...

So due to various issues with my brakes lately and wanting to upgrade to disc brakes on a roadie I was going to head up to the London bike show next month.

Just wondering how many people have been and how good it is? Presumably you can buy bikes up there and get a deal maybe? It looks like it should be really good fun and hopefully lots to do, my partner wants to come as well and hopefully she won't get bored either

I went along a few years ago when there was a three for the price of one deal with the Boat Show, and I was glad I hadn't paid full whack:sad:.
Probly the most memorable aspect was the lady assistant on a tyre stand whose dress appeared to be made from one stretched inner tube:sad:
There were a lot of cars there.
I particularly wanted to see panniers for touring, just to actually handle the various types rather than look at pics in ads. Failed .
There were various bikes you could take for a spin around a test circuit, but no one to discuss points/answer queries.
Maybe it will have improved, but even the lady in the tube will be that much older now:sad:
Good luck:thumbsup:
