I cheated, as it's not an FNRTTC. You were there though @User10571, as was your Australian(?) friend.

That did cross my mind. So that would've been an RV with Oscar's Dad and the Essex contingent either by the Tilbury Ferry or the Promenade cafe in Gravesend, followed by a ride to the Horseshoe & Castle in Cooling, and then an escorted ride along the Thames path to the camping site at Crystal Palace.
If it is that, I still cannot figure at which point we would've been as close as your pic shows to a container port ???
Unless, of course, you were using The Very Special Lens. Like f 0.001. Or summat.
And I don't recognise the riders dressed in red.

Correct. Refreshments were taken at the Promenade Cafe. The aerobatic recumbent pic (f8 1/500 85mm) was taken near the incinerator (or is it a pumping station?) with the wavy roof.

Riders on Friday might remember seeing signs for The Nuts Challenge and wondering what it was. One of those Tough Mudder-type obstacle course runs, apparently. I would have preferred a tribute to Anthony McAuliffe. Acting commander of the US 101st Airborne Division besieged by German forces at Bastogne in December 1944, he replied to an ultimatum for surrender with the following:
To the German Commander.

NUTS!

The American Commander.
Which is also what I'd say to the Nuts Challenge…
