Which ride was that then?
I'm trying to figure where we go, where we are that close to a container port?
Southwold?
Either at Harwich or Felixstowe

That did cross my mind. So that would've been an RV with Oscar's Dad and the Essex contingent either by the Tilbury Ferry or the Promenade cafe in Gravesend, followed by a ride to the Horseshoe & Castle in Cooling, and then an escorted ride along the Thames path to the camping site at Crystal Palace.I cheated, as it's not an FNRTTC. You were there though @User10571, as was your Australian(?) friend.
Harwich doesn't do containers - its a ferry port.Southwold?

Correct. Refreshments were taken at the Promenade Cafe. The aerobatic recumbent pic (f8 1/500 85mm) was taken near the incinerator (or is it a pumping station?) with the wavy roof. That did cross my mind. If it is that, I still cannot figure at which point we would've been as close as your pic shows to a container port ???
Unless, of course, you were using The Very Special Lens. Like f 0.001. Or summat.
And I don't recognise the riders dressed in red.
Now (Thanks to Streetview http://tinyurl.com/ycbfx2at) it all makes sense.Correct. Refreshments were taken at the Promenade Cafe. The aerobatic recumbent pic (f8 1/500 85mm) was taken near the incinerator (or is it a pumping station?) with the wavy roof.
Riders on Friday might remember seeing signs for The Nuts Challenge and wondering what it was.
