Come join the Bromley Cyclists for a ride from London to Oxford.
Day: Friday 25th July to Sun 27th July
Although an LCC and Bromley Cyclists event all are welcome. You do not need to be a member to take part. Just turn up and go . . . .
The route will follow the Sustrans London-Oxford route, which is about 90 miles long - a fairly flat route mostly away from any busy roads which follows the beautiful landscapes of the Thames Valley and Chilterns to Oxford - fantastic at the height of summer!
We'll be meeting outside the Star and Garter pub, by the river to the west side of Putney Bridge. 11am Friday 25th July, from where we'll head off onto the route, eventually stopping at Streatley-on-Thames at the YHA hostel for the night - there taking advantage of drinks and food at a local hostelry, and completing our journey on the Saturday afternoon in central Oxford. Participants will then have a choice of getting transport back to London [there are very regular and excellent coach services back to London which take bikes], or staying overnight in Oxford to sample the many delights that fine City has to offer.
A limited number of places have already been booked at the the Streatley YHA, all of which are allocated, however it is important that you contact Trevor in advance if you would like to join so that he can add you to the group [or feel free to join and book your own accommodation].
If preferred, an alternative plan would be to come out to 'Streatley and Goring' by train for 10am on the Saturday to join us for that days ride only - the choice is yours!
