London to Rome

Hi guys

I am in the last few stages in planning a ride to Rome from London. The route is a bit of a mare, does anyone have a GPX file OR can they recommend what scale MAP I'd need? I used a standard Collins MAP to do a LEJOG and I was hoping for something similar this time round.

1:200,000 though you might get away with the smaller scale 1:400,000. What scale was the "standard Collins MAP"? I used 250,000 for my end-to-end, without electronic navigational support (plus a few city maps @ 1:100,000). Someone else's GPX file will massively depend on their set of assumptions (main roads or not, tarmac only or not, hill/mountain seeking or avoidance, wanting to go into cities or avoiding them, PoI visiting). Here's a straight RidewGPS Rome to London. Often gives a useful start point.
