London tourist cycle route

A couple of us are planning to head down to that there London to pedal round for day and see the sites. A kinnd of pedal round the monopoly board if you will.

Apart from the usual bits, does anyone know any quirky bits that are of interest as we go round? At the minute, my mate has bits round Hyde Park and the Greenwich Tunnel, and I have Ripper sites on the 'to see' list.

Not sure where we're starting yet, as we'll be getting the train the evening before and have yet to book a room, so any info on cheap cycle friendly digs could be useful too.

Travelodge let you take bikes in rooms. Maybe stay at the one in Stratford as long as there's no rugby World Cup games. Shouldn't be too expensive

This is where you can order 6 free maps. https://tfl.gov.uk/forms/12419.aspx They say allow 10 days for delivery but when I ordered some years ago they arrived pretty quickly.

If it was me, I'd work out what I'd like to see and work out a route based on that. For example, the ripper sites east of the city would be a job to get round in themselves given how the roads can be.
