You don't own/use a bag for the carrier block?

I own a couple but I really don’t like them. I only use them if I can’t fit everything in my rucksack.

I find it very odd to not be able to place my front wheel. And as I cycle at a pace where I get hot and sweaty with or without a rucksack, it’s not like it’s saving me from turning up sodden.

I also found it much harder to get off trains carrying two things (bag and bike) rather than just one.

At least for that there's a solution: There are a couple of backpacks available for the carrier block in the meantime. I created an overview recently, still there are some missing including all the offerings from Aliexpress and alike. It is in German, but Google translate may help:

Personally I am using the Lumabag Urban Traveller and like it a lot. Perfect if you don't have to carry a lot of stuff. Also, the new backpack from Brompton looks potentially appealing: https://www.brompton.com/shop/bags/borough-waterproof-backpack-graphite
