I know its a longshot but does anyone know of a dog friendly landlord or landlady in the Norfolk area. I might even sneak across the border to Suffolk if necessary. We are looking for a long term let.

We live in a mobile home and I don't think that I can stand another winter and bricks and mortar have a definite appeal. Especially after everything was damp again this morning and I am getting fed up with cleaning the mold off the walls and ceilings weekly. I've stuck it so far as I have been looking for something suitable for a year but I'm getting to the end of my teather now.

I have 4 dogs (2 ancient ones and 2 middle aged ones), no kids. We are a nice respectable, working couple and getting desperate.

We go on rightmove daily, more than once as a rule. We search gumtree, the local papers and even put 'wanted' ads on Gumtree but only get replies from people wanting us to send the deposit up front, before viewing, by worldpay or western union and we were not born yesterday.

My charming sister with her 4 kids, 2 of whom have ASBOs had no problem finding a home. Quite frankly I'd rather have us than her, if I was a landlord. At least my dogs don't destroy the place or rob the neighbours.

Any advice greatly appreciated. If anyone can suggest something that we haven't tried we would be even more grateful. Oh, we are on the council list but it could take up to 7 years but then we would be allowed to go into over 55 housing!

Have you tried pawlets.co.uk?

Not sure what's available in your area, but they have quite a few choices where I live. My mate found her appartment through their site. Give it a go. I know how hard it can be, as I have two dogs myself..
Let me know if I can help in any way!

Immediate chucking out due to breach of contract if he does spot them?
No. You can't be evicted without a court order, which would take three months-ish. And it is what M'Learned Friends call a remediable breach - unlike having used the property for dealing drugs, for instance.

If it happens we're hoping to get round it by the wording of the tenancy which says "animals which will cause damage to the property" by pointing out that he hasn't damaged anything.

Not much help. but one issue is that sometimes the landlord doesnt have an option.

I rent out a flat, but the building lease says no pets, so I dont have a say

good luck though

Thank you for all your replies.

We have considered sneaking them in but with 2 working type Jacks, a Saluki & a Greyhound, they are not all tiny and hideable. They would get noticed.
We are looking for a bigger/better mobile home but so many of them are for retirees and not us hard working types. We have either visited or called all the local ones that we have come across or been told about.

If we could find a home like our friends; a 40' x 12' 2 bedroomed (+ 1 additional teeny tiny room), bathroom, separate loo and decent sized kitchen with a woodburner mobile home, we would be well happy. Its also finding somewhere to put it that has water laid on and electric hook up of some description. A lot of the residential parks are owner residents only and start at somewhere around £80k for one. Our mates paid £2k for theirs but they also have their own half an acre, & a bit, of land to put it on. Water and power is there already as they have their car renovation business on site.

On the good news front. We are being evicted at the end of July next year. No really, a good thing as its the council that is telling us to go, not the landlord. Apparantly the homes are an eyesore (like you can see them from the road over 1/3 mile away). We are now musing on the idea of finding a nice woodburner and staying put as the council have to house us as they are evicting us.
We got a 'hand delivered' A4 envelope when we got in today. All 4 mobile homes got one and the landlord is not best happy. He's been fighting it for months apparently. He's a great landlord, its just that we are nesh.

Good luck Saluki - I really hope you find a good solution- though if the council are evicting the mobile homes then as you say they will have to house you. Hope it works out!
