I am quite interested in the M Deluxe, but I can't seem to find it on the Schwalbe website. Are these deluxe new to the market or been around for a while?

Only place I can find them currently is Wiggle, and even with them I am unsure they are the right ones.

Yeah, I struggled a bit as well. They're on the US website, but even there it doesn't give protection/rolling ratings any more and only lists 26 & 28" sizes (the 700c sizes are much lighter than the weights for the 26/28s btw!). if memory serves the ratings were same as the M+ but half a point higher for rolling resistance and 1 point lower for protection -

These are the right ones, but blimmin pricey - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/schwalbe-marathon-deluxe-evo-double-defense-road-tyre/

I got mine from Rose Bikes in Germany as they were only £23 at the time, but looks like they've sold out now. Maybe it's a discontinued line?

@callummac

Here you go:

Good price too for decent tyres.

They are very grippy things - I too got mine (35mm) from Rose for about £27 (I think).

I don't think there is much lighter on the market for the same type of tyre/protection etc.

I run mine a 5.5 Bar front and 6 Bar rear and they give a really nice ride over some crappy road surfaces plus they don't squirm about in bends - well, not that I can detect.

Thanks all.

I think I will definitely be looking at the deluxe's.

One last question. They have a load rating in KG, is that KG per tyre of as a pair.

For example, the 35c's quote load rating as 95kg. Does that mean the max load is 190kg if you can somehow maintain a 50/50 split in weight or does it mean the max weight is 95kg.

I have emailed Schwalbe directly on this but they seem to be incredibly slow.....

Per tyre.

Randonneur pros;run them on my cross bike at the mo* and they have been reasonably bullet proof,only start to get problems when they are getting worn.Usually get them pretty cheap too,think mine were about £14 each from Planet X.

*Will be going tubeless soon though with Schwalbe S-Ones.
