Hi All,
Looking for some recommendations on a new pair of shorts, (Road) for the coming summer months! I quite like the Lusso Brand, But, the last pair I bought had quite a stiff and bulky padded insert. looking for shorts with a soft-ish thinner seat insert. Any suggestions?

Links to products with £prices appreciated.

Not sure if you mean general padded shorts or serious lycra shorts.
I bought a pair of Funkier shorts with separate inserts.......brilliant & really comfy-but not lycra.

Depends how far your going , i find the basic decathlon shorts perfectly adequate for my 10 mile commute and i have used them for longer rides but you do know it after 30 miles or so.

£8 , and the cut is proper english so i can get my fat well toned behind in as i find lots of other brands tend to very tight on the legs even when i go at least a size up.

These are very good for a cheap pair if you want a thinner pad , i found them to tight around the leg though for me. £9

Another vote for dhb here too. Bibs are 31 quid at the mo, 9 quid cheaper than usual. I use them and they're comfy as anything. Their normal lycra shorts are about 16 quid as well but can't comment on them - prefer bibs.

Shutt VR bibs are the best. I have tried DHB and although they are good anything above 70 miles and the Shutt ones win hands down. Totally comfy comfiness on 200k and 300k rides flat or hilly.

Bugger, i'd just convinced myself to order the dhb aeron pro bib. Do you think they outshine those?

I have a few pairs of normal shorts, and also like the 'Tenn' brand but went for thier more expensive one at £20 deivered. They are the most comfy ones I own.

Errm, cant seem to get a second link posted in this thread so will post in a second or two[/quote]

I think the link you've given is for their club bib shorts at £45

The VR bibs you recommend are £99 - would still like to know if they're a step up from the dhb pro aeron?

Erm...no, the Shutt ones I have are the £45 ones! I cannot comment on the dhb Pro Aeron as the ones I had were not the PRO ones. In fact they may have been the Earnley ones but cannot remember for sure.

Ultimately you pays yer money.....

Have found Endura shorts both comfy and long-lasting. Have had a pair of F260 shorts that were/are around the £40 mark and, while my rides are typically 20-30 miles, they have proved comfy on longer distances up to 120+km
