That is all well and good but what if you lose the key to the keysafe.If I was in his situation I'd call my father in law. He'd turn up 15 minutes later with an angle grinder and a huge grin because he rarely gets to use it.
I fear this situation so I have a key safe with all the spare keys in. That's no help to you but I feel better.

Just go on a bike then it won't cost anything.Only money spent then will be on travelling there and back.
