Like thomas (until yesterday) I haven't received a single negative comment on YouTube on my various exploits but in recent days there has been a flurry of new subscribers. Are battle lines being drawn?

I had a flurry a couple of months ago on my long inactive youtube account. It was the usual bollocks and you needed a degree in txtspk to understand most of it (I've never seen the 'c' word end in a 'z' before - that one actually made me laugh or 'lol' if you will).
It didn't annoy me as much as make me deeply depressed and wish the swine flu could mutate into something that targeted imbeciles.
Sometimes repling to posters is worthwhile.

So I am a tosser because I ask who is wrong. Have a look at earlier comments, you will find that I admit that I was wrong here and have changed my cycling accordingly. It's all about admitting mistakes and learning from them. Do you?

Yes i do, i still think its stupid of you to post the video asking who was at fault when it was you that was in the wrong by a mile, i have looked at most of your videos and you think you own the road!!!

Oh yes I own the road LOL! Unfortunately at the moment cars 'own' the road, damage the road, clog up the road, kill on the road etc. Your anger is aimed in the wrong place.
Who pays the most for the road? Is it those who drive on it? In general no. A lot of cyclists have a car (i.e. pay VED, like I do) and yet chose not to drive. So in fact cyclists (who on average earn more and thus pay more tax, apparently) subsidise the roads. Surprising, isn't it...

Opinion is good. I welcome that. Always have, and that is the point of my videos. However, why call me a tosser. I made a mistake and have learned from it. No need for childish name calling is there?
I'm curious, what do you think is funny about my last comment? Let me know your opinion on it? Did I say something that is inaccurate?

I agree that a lot of cyclists don't ride properly. However, there are a lot who do (you just won't notice them!). One way to look at it, is people will do what they think they can get away with. Some cyclists will run red lights etc. The equivalent for drivers is speeding, using mobiles etc. You have to ask yourself, which is the more dangerous, and which should we be more concerned about.
Just remember, we aren't all lycra louts! :-)

There certainly are idiots out there. However, the vast majority are very good and do give me room etc. It's just not as interesting to show on the internet! ;-)

Mag, the only way in which that conversation seems worthwhile is that it has reinforced my general feeling of superiority over the average moton. Yeah, you talked him out of acting like a complete moron in that instance, but he still remains quite clearly an idiot.
I'm rapidly coming to the position where I see leaving youtube videos open to comments as an entirely unrewarding thing to do.

I think he has changed his attitude, just a little. I forced him to think, 'hmm maybe not all cyclists are idiots'. Maybe, when he goes out in his car the next time, he will look a little more carefully at cyclists, see the ones that do stop at reds etc, and he might just give the odd cyclist a bit more room.
I've had a number of conversations on youtube, which have started out aggressive and have ended up in agreement. It can't do any harm.

Yep, on the video that this guy posted on someone posted something like, "i don't see why you complain, when you're always in the wrong position". I thought it was some dig at primary position, but sent the guy a little message and it wasn't. He juts didn't like how I filtered, I explained it and showed him how what was safe there wouldn't be safe in other instances (showed him some other videos). He ended up agreeing that he was wrong.
