M.O.T. lottery

Well, the Smart has its M.O.T. Monday next week, then it gets laid up until the hedgehogs stop hibernating.

That means it's time for the annual sweepstake on whether it will pass or not, and if it fails how much itll cost.

I'm going to stick my neck out and go for a clean pass. It only had one advisory last year, a slightly loose rear lamp cluster, and that has been replaced with a new one and cured.

So what do you reprobates reckon?

Should pass, especially if it was a Toyota, Honda or Nissan. Any other make, lottery, but it's only done 1,800 miles. Good job it's not a 'full' Merc of the same age, it would have rusted away !

Fortunately it's made from either plastic, or exceptionally high boron steel which is galvanised and powedercoated, so rust is the one thing I don't need to worry about.

Mines just gone through another Mot with no problems. It's a 20 year old diesel banger held together with cow muck and bale twine, and has passed every year with no advisories.
Oddly enough after it got its mot this year, 1/4 of a mile from the test station the headlight bulb failed. Im glad it went just after the mot. All fixed now non the less.
