My work is the sort of place where the suits look down on those of us in uniform but after a simple email asking if the bike racks will still be in use after extension work is completed our depot manager now makes a beeline for me to have a chat about bikes and routes and how his dodgy knees meant he had to stop running - he raced in Olympics back when Bros were big.

Simple pleasantries, I know, but I'm delighted and will miss him when he's executed for fraternization...

My knee consultant loves talking bikes with me since I took my Brompton in first time. he's even threatening to get it out into the car park for a test ride when I next see him. I can see his patient list after me loving that one, he's always busy :smile:

I have quite a few colleagues in 'different' specialisms that cycle. Only one colleague that works in the same area as me - we follow each other on Strava. Always good for a chat on the corridor - you can bore your 'other' colleagues to tears.... heh heh
