Cake or ice cream? The choice is endless ...

Good morning clever people.
I need formulae to convert fuel consumption figures. An equation, ordinary calculation and an Excel formula will suffice..

How do I (you) convert Litres per 100km to kilometers per litre.

The reason I ask is that my truck display gives me l/100km, my company report is in kpl

Oh, by lunchtime today please

100 divided by your figure.

For example, if you did 5 litlres per 100km, 100/5 = 20kpl

Or in Excel, if A1 is your figure, cell B1 would be '=100/A1'

Yes I (he) do. :okay:

It is not as simple as moving a decimal point, sadly.
So what type of truck is it and how many mpg is it getting ? (divide 284.1 by your litres per 100km figure)

(my 284.1 comes from 100 x 5 / 8 x 4.54545)
It's a horrible DAF CF automatic.
My yearly average to date, grossing up to 44tons is 10.8 mpg. On a lighter load and good route, I can exceed 12.5 mpg. A double decker trailer fully loaded on a hilly A road is often down to7 or 8MPG

Thanks for that calc.

Keen students will notice that litres per kilometre can be expressed in units of area.

So away with these newfangled litres and kilometres. Report your fuel use in acres.
Ah, yes, litres being distance^3 and km being distance^1 leaving distance^2 or area.
