Your conversion factors are wrong.
A gallon is 4.54609 litres, and a kilometer 0.621371192 miles (5/8 is 0.625)

So away with these newfangled litres and kilometres. Report your fuel use in acres.

how about this unit of area, 'how many sheep(or cows) could you run on summer grazing there?'. so for example rather looking at a field and saying that's 50 acres you might say that's 200 sheep
see now you can express your fuel consumption report in terms of cows and sheep!

and yes this is genuinely how i do a rough estimate of field sizes, after all when you're looking to put cows on it for summer grazing what's more useful how many acres (or hectares) it is or how many cows you can put on it for summer grazing?
