Well you got to the castle
The smoke house nearby produces some the most expensive and inedible fish it has ever been my misfortunate to spend a right arm on. Incredibly salty, something the smoking is meant to obviate the need for

We don't seem to have a thread for castles. We have one for ruins, which fits most castled, but I don't think this one - Caerphilly Castle is really a ruin.

I always wonder how much it cost to build all these castles. Especially across Wales, when, apart from the heritage and a proud people, there wasn't much of value.

A lot of mineral wealth in north Wales (Romans were after it too) and they also didn't want the neighbours causing too many ructions
