Like this - She wanted to write a clickbait article and had obviously done her research on what gets the most clicks. She probably doesn't believe one jot of what she wrote in the article.

People will be talking about her, to her and generally raising her profile.

Dunno, I do get cross with them. But then again, I get cross at punctured inner tubes as well which are just as full of hot air and just as hollow as a journalist's head.
