@Puddles I assume you are just using the Kelly Kettle to boil water for your coffee? Why not get yourself a wee gas stove like this:
http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/vango-compact-gas-stove-p153188
(that's just the first one I found as an example of what I mean)? It screws onto a gas canister, and you'd need a kettle or pan to boil your water in.
That's a slippery slope to normality there, Puddles. I'd be wary if I were you, you have a reputation to think of.

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?

Oooh I shall peer I used my kelly kettle for everything on our last foray on bicycles in a tent... cooking as well as water heating... I think I shall have to succumb to the gas stove

I think it might be gas stove or cycle home (0.7 Miles!!!) every few hours to fill up my flask

We will be taking the trailer to that one, we shall have crabbing gear to carry too and buckets and spades....

The Kelly Kettle is a lot more fun, but campsites are wary about fires (both because of damage to grass and also because tents are fairly flammable...).
If you want something a bit more stable than the "screw on top of a cannister" style stove, then how about something like this?
http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/campingaz-portable-gas-stove-p321994
That takes cannisters that go into the side. I'd be happy to use that inside a big tent like you have.

(I assume you already have the next step up from that, which would be a two-ring stove which runs off a big heavy gas cannister.)

That's not a small tent: this is a small tent... ;)
(I have one of those, for backpacking. I didn't pay as much as in the link for it...)
Your new tent looks a good size for what you want.

Where would I put the children in one that size? I suppose I could shove them in the porch area and tie them down or something!

that's the type we bought err 14 years ago when we first went camping and its still going strong. It's not really small but it was very stable which was important as mine were between 0-6 in age at that point.

I have a Lifeventure style one for touring, and agreed they work even when wet. However if these are micro fibre not just cheap and nasty they could be worth a try http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Large...-Travel-Camping-Gym-Lightweight-/390642642847 STUNNING looks at least
I just received this today. It seems to be ideal. Says 100% polyester and the same material as those micro fibre cleaning cloths. Does not pack particularly small but I have high hopes for a much better drying experience than the chamois-style LifeVenture one - and a decent size too

Well, write it down boy ......
Damn you, cyclechat, every time I log on costs me. I've gone for the Union Jack one. I can imagine it now draped over a hedge somewhere in France. That and the fact it'll be a collector's piece in a few years.
I've never really got on with microfibre towels, preferring to take a cotton one, so I hope this one works.
