It's both. I have been wearing glasses for short sight since I was 7 but from that age, and well into my late 40s wasn't an issue reading anything. Then by early 50s it was an issue.

Similar here, but I wear contact lenses for distance vision (and have done for 48 years), but need reading glasses for closer work.

I can just make out the numbers on my Wahoo Elmnt Roam, but not the labels for the boxes, so I need to now which position each reading is in.

Another 2 pairs of glasses here, for day to day activities I can just about cope without specs but if I want to see clearly it's on with the bins, been shortsighted since about 10 and need reading glasses for the past 12 years. Still go to the same opticians as I always have but it is the Son now owns it, it was Ernest B. Judge but is now just Judge Opticians still in the same shop on High St. in Leicester.

I deal my nose hair ( a pair of sharp nail scissors does the trick ), my barber deals very efficiently with my ear hair - ! :okay:

Mrs W cuts my hair and trips my beard. She insists that my ear hair and eyebrows need to be plucked with tweezers. I suspect she is just inflicting pain for all my misdoings between hair cuts.
I do have a battery nose and ear trimmer but if she suspects I have used it I get more pain.🙀🙀🙀

Nasal waxing is your friend. Five seconds of pain for three months of hair free nose. I'll be having one about 9.00am at the barbers.

You know nasal hair, even a bit, serves a purpose?

You could try the small stick-on lenses by these people. They come in various strengths. Also available much cheapear (and just as good in my opinion) from Aliexpress. The Aliexress ones are bit more flexible.

Further to my earlier post about having neck issues. I got myself new varifocals but I may have found the problem. I noticed I was always shuffling back on rides so I had an idea that I would move my saddle forward bit by bit, basically so my posterior would be more on the wider part of the saddle and so I wouldn't be shuffling back. My shoulders and neck ache like crazy now after trainer rides. Would such a slight adjustment cause such post ride ache?

I moved the saddle back to the original point (I think) this morning (see attached) but it felt like I was being digged into the perineum when sitting up for a quick drink at times and now have a bit of chaffing. I can't win at the moment sadly.

This guy is a bike fitter and has some very good advice on the root causes of lots of pains. There are few different videos covering different aspects.
