I tried quinoa recently and what a disaster that was; within an hour I was in agony with trapped wind and a couple of hours later the trapped wind worked its way to the end and the stink was unbearable, like a Parisian sewer only twice as strong. Never again.

Glad to hear it's not just me that has problems with the stuff. A 'never again' from me too.

I'll admin to buying a Robert Carrier cook book recently, well-thumbed yellowed pages that smelled of damp. (Quality 2nd hand books from a stall at
the village fete)
I was slightly horrified by the use of tinned ingredients in so many recipes.
i'd forgotten how the choice of groceries had developed over the years.
