Middle-class quandary of the day - robot grass mowers.

I've got a wife to mow the lawn. Not cheaper but at least it gets done.

I've got a son to do mine. Certainly not cheaper and it doesn't get done either.
I'm going wrong somewhere.

Serious answer, saw one in action in Italy a few years back... there was a fairly extensive lawn (flattish, though with one are of mild slope). It was bounded by some sort of string which marked the boundaries. The mower stop and turn at the boundaries.The mower was on the go quite a bit, and parked itself in a charger when it needed it! It was v impressive, and worked a treat.

Walking behind the lawnmower is good exercise why would anyone, other than lazy gits, want such a thing?

I often watch one in operation whilst out running in the 'sham, exactly the target demographic for said device, on a Sunday morning. I find it fascinating and strangely restful to watch.

Yeah, I saw a demo one running once. It was fascinating to watch - would it turn around at the end of the grass or go rogue and head off into the woods? I was rather disappointed it wasn't there the last time I passed the shop.

tlh mows our lawn. Mainly because I refuse to do so. I'll not speak ill of the dead but The Aged P once mowed my wild flower meadow. I nearly mowed him.

Alas no. This one comes in yellow/orange but it's not so good at cutting the lawn.

Be a little adventurous, make the first cut a diagonal and follow on from there.
