Barnet,
I do like mince pies. For the last few years I have found that Iceland's luxury pies were the best for flavour, pastry and price.:hungry:

I started the mince pie eatathon about a month ago despite hating christmas.

Where I was working last year they did full christmas dinner in the canteen daily from about December 15th for £4 - I had one every day I was in work. Hoping the new place does something similar.

I enjoy giving presents and sending cards but I will give what I want and not what people on the telly tell me to give to 'show how much I care'
It has become too commercialised

My F-in-L was a baker from Newton Abbott and introduced me early in my wooing of his daughter to warm mince pies with a generous dollop of Devon clotted cream on top. Nothing better in the world.

I don't like most Christmas food, and I don't really like mince pies but crikey, Costco mince pies are amazing - pastry base but sponge on top. I think the white powdery stuff they sprinkle on top is crack because they are very addictive. Also, Aldi stollen. Possibly also sprinkled with crack.

I don’t much like shortcrust pastry...I do like the mince meat though so I shall seek out some puff pastry variants...Waitrose do them as do M&S but I (probably) won’t buy until December ^_^
