Yep I used to park on the village green a good distance away the kids school and it was surprising how few others did the same.

Nice easy walk.

When my eldest lad was at school, on the rare occasion he asked for a lift, he would always get me to drop him off round the corner so he could walk the rest of the way with his pals claiming he'd walked all the way - !

When my friends moved house they had to start driving their sons to school. They parked outside a house not far away & walked from there. They soon spotted that the people who lived in that house came out and drove their kids to the same school.
