Yes, fascinating isn't it!
It was.
Blame @Mad Doug Biker, for bringing this up.

Why has the US government just piped up, still unconfirmed by Sky news yet though.

They have just said they believe the plane and its passengers are being held against their will, no country has been mentioned but it just seems strange for them to say this, and for the search teams to not be able to find any piece of debris from an aircraft, is someone holding back information?
Why were two Iranians travelling to Germany on a Malaysia airlines jet via China.?

Strange for the US to say this now.

This has just been said on Sky news this morning.

It's not on their website

And as to the Iranians they were just taking a cheap flight to Europe in the hopes of getting asylum. Apparently they tried to book another airline originally but this ticket, booked through South China Airlines, was far cheaper. Simple. Just another human tragedy among the 239 stories of tragedy aboard the flight.

I see where Malaysian Airlines has 'retired' the old flight code MH370 out of 'respect' for the passengers and crew on the ill-fated flight. Like anyone would ever fly on that flight number again anyway....

If someone deliberately switched off the aircraft transponder, presumably they weren't aware that the Rolls Royce engine data transmitter would continue chattering away to its makers. If true, then another 4-5 hours of engine usage after disappearance is really quite extraordinary.
