Why not fit a dynamo to the bike? That way you can be charging your bats while you cycle! I've used a hub dyno for charging a small 12 volt battery for my ham radio use in the past although in fairness this was used in a wind generator project rather than on a bike. You could fit a standard cig lighter socket and the phone or device would charge from a standard in car charger!

Just an idea!
