Don't waste money on expensive single speeds. Keep your current bike, but don't change gear.

Don't waste money on expensive Lycra gear. Simply peel the Sky sticker off your neighbours work van, and stick it to your Wife's yoga leotard.

Don't waste money on helmets. Instead, simply stretch a brightly coloured balloon over the top of your head and do not fall off.

Don't waste money on expensive carbon framed bikes. Simply buy a cheap BSO and have it wrapped in carbon film.

Don't waste money on expensive clipless systems. Simply sew Velcro to your shoes and pedals.

Don't waste money on expensive clip on cycle carriers for your car. Simply lay your bike on the roof and drive very slowly.

Don't waste money on expensive energy gels. Simply get a carton of Capri Sun and write "Expensive Energy Gel" on it with marker pen.

Don't waste money on expensive Audaxes. Simply turn up and ride on the public road.

Don't waste mony on expensive saddles. Have plastic surgery on your buttocks to make them fit the cheap saddles better.

Don't waste time and money on a bike from Canyon. Go to the local Halfords, buy the wrong size bike, and act surprised when you get it home.

Don't waste money on electronic gear systems. Simply buy a bike with Sora, and then register on a bike forum and complain it doesn't work properly since the last software update.

Don't waste years of your life with expensive training to enter the TdF. Simply take a load of performance enhancing drugs, and have a testicle removed to save weight.

Save yourself the effort of trying to get the best time on Strava by taking the car on your favourite loop with the phone on the roof.
