Don't know where all the cars will be that are normally parked up at the side of the road though.

Are those road markings not parking bays, as long as there is a raised kerb (to stop/deter cars) it should be fine.

Let's hope they don't follow the abomination of the cycle path in Fallowfield which is a death trap.

This is the most exciting bit. If they build a cycle path all the way into Manc I believe it will really increase south Manc to centre manc cycle commuters:

Bridgewater Cycleway

This scheme would extend the Bridgewater Cycleway, opened as part of the first phase of our Cycle City programme.

This will complete the strategically important link from the regional centre to Trans Pennine Trail and the National Cycle Network routes 82 and 62.

The scheme will also provide cycle access to key employment and residential areas.

Problem with these wonderful schemes is they will just dump you back onto the road at some point.
Better to just make the inside lane a bit wider IMHO.

Great: even less room on the roads for the people who actually pay for them. When are we going to see cyclists with number plates (so they can be held accountable for their actions), compulsory 3rd party insurance (to protect others from their actions), and paying at least some amount of road tax towards the upkeep of the roads they use?

Another waste of money

Good to see the usual standards of comments whenever cycling is mentioned has been maintained
