Most Reliable Combi Boiler Brand?

Whichever brand you choose, the installer will try and push you in the direction of the manufacturer who gives him the most "loyalty points" which he can exchange for cheap holidays etc. They'll charge you list price for the boiler. They buy it at trade price. They make £300-£400 on the difference without even getting out of bed.

It's a grubby business.

Edit: They'll probably try and stiff you for a couple of hundred with a totally unnecessary PowerFlush too.

I've learned that omerta spares you from a lot of grief.

buy your boiler and get a mate to fit it.
Or a local gas fitter.

Indeedy doody! A trip to the plumbers' merchant for a boiler and some Fernox F3 will save you about £500-600 without much effort, simultaneously denying those ragged spivs of their ill-gotten gains. It's enough to make you smile.....

I would never of bought another one after that. But I guess your right it was probably a lemon.

I would agree, except it was so bad it just had to be an anomaly, or the manufacturer would long since have been bankrupt by the class law suit to replace all these substandard products.
The replacement appears to be proving my gamble/assumption right.
