Design and construction was a cockup (it didn't meet in the middle when they first put it up) and the final bill came to more than the Angel of the North.
Somehow, I can't see anyone making a special trip to see it.
The Treasury at Petra, you approach on horseback down the Siq, a narrow gloomy ravine deep in the rock. Then you round a corner and you gasp as you get your first sight of the Treasury, carved out of solid sandstone. Unforgettable.
I was over in Lancaster with my sisters last Saturday. We thought it looked really nice, though the traffic on its little ring road was a pain! We came back via Morecambe and were not impressed with that, though the view across the bay to the distant Lake District mountains was splendid.Blackpool... and Morecambe
