Who in your humble opinions are a bit underated in the British music biz past or present?

my contenders after some thought are the late great John Martyn and an up to date mention are Scottish indie band Frightened Rabbit....they just need a wee bit of luck and they will be huge IMO

Wes McGhee - from Leicester but spends a lot of his time in Austin Texas. Making great country/rock and roll records for about 40 years but not well known at all. Great songwriter, singer and guitarist - good live show too but doesn't play much these days, last time I saw him was at the 100 Club and that was probably 6 or 7 years ago.

Oh and he was playing guitar, unexpectedly, last time I saw Heather Myles (underrated American) play - bonus!
