I use a scythe on pond edges to take down reeds…other fishing lads scoff when they bring a strimmer. How I laugh when theirs constantly tangle up. I’m as fast as them!
Take em up and Bob a job.
You look cool too….it takes a bit of practice though….

I got fed up with my reel mower, it was cheap new but after about 5 sharpenings I gave up. My lawn is now too uneven to get a good cut from it, so I gave it away. Bought an electric mower from Argos, 60 quid, and it's excellent. Very light, and once I'd sharpened the blades it goes through the thick stuff without even labouring. Better than my partner's Flymo which was 3 x the price, although hers is better made. Mine's flimsy but should last if taken care of
