I think even the worst drivers would not run into the back of a bright yellow crane but there was definitely accidents with the concertina effect further back !
The roads been upgraded since , you don't need to accelerate to 70mph in 50 yards on the slip road to enter it now .

I am not falling into any trap , like I said before I know it is mostly all the motorists fault and not the cyclists or the crane driver or the broke down car but it still better to take precautions to minimise some of the dangers like don't let cycles on busy roads with 70mph limits and keep other slow moving vehicles of these roads as well .

Most cyclists would agree that these roads are dangerous , the reason I know this because if they thought they were safe they would be on them but they aint!

Big difference between unsafe and unpleasant. When I ride big A roads it's not cos they are a joy, it's because invariably they are the quickest route from A - B.

I cycle on the East Kilbride expressway (50 and 70mph) in rush hour when I need to, will that do?

As a local, I have always regarded the A82 as dangerous to cyclists, it is a motorway in all but name up until about Tarbert.

I had this conversation before in the touring section and was beaten into the ground with various accident statistics about how safe it was, but, those are just that, accident statistics!
These stats don't take into consideration all the other incidents that take place but generally aren't recorded. Seeing people cycling on that road during the day when it is at its busiest just makes me cringe, and no amount of statistics will convince me otherwise.

That's way to fast for that road. There are blind driveways about 100 yards back from that point anybody pulling out would take thier life in thier hands.
