I'm comparing Decathlon's inexpensive MTB Brake Pads (blocks) to their inexpensive Road Bike brake Pads (blocks).

I'm using the same bike, just swapping the brake Pads, they're setup the same distance from the wheel rim.

First impressions are that the longer MTB Pads are better at stopping.

Just ordered two pairs of Richley MTB pads for the Carlton, to see if they're an improvement...........

Top post! Just the type of thing I like to see on here. Can't think why I've never tried it, will be doing so now.

I use inexpensive Clarkes three colour (not wet weather pads) 72mm replaceable either cantilever or 'V' pads on all my bikes. They fit caliper brakes very well and work loads better.
