Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Ive just spent an hour talking to my mum on the phone. She is 92 and she can talk the hind leg off a donkey. Thats one of her favourite sayings. Must be an Irish saying

I'm told by the web that actual Gaelic translation is to get a donkey to sit(on its' hind legs, an extraordinary thing for a donkey to do, I guess) so I imagine it must be quite a long conversation.Ive just spent an hour talking to my mum on the phone. The machine on the right doesn't make hot chocolate anymore.*sad face*The espresso from the machine on the left is dire
The espresso from the machine on the right marginally less so.

Hi30 pages of mundaneness.
How are you? Have you been busy?
Hi
I'm OK. Run down, very tired, exhausted and dead on my feet... apart from that I'm knackered.
How are you?
I over did things badly last week, but we always knew it was going to take a lot out of me. I went down to seem my (ex-step) grandmother who is in a care home down in Plymouth and then we went on down to Penzance to see my OH's ex-work wife who has been very ill recently and drove home in a day because I had an MRI on the sunday morning at a less than local hospital. Then Monday night I was at a Kate Rusby concert in Manchester so we didn't get home until very late (not helped by the car suddenly deciding it needed fuel and both the petrol stations we tried to use being closed at that time of night... we put 62.4L of fuel into a 60L tank. It is the most we have put in it since we bought it and basically we couldn't risk turning off the engine or actually going home (steep hill to drive up on the way out would have removed the remaining fuel from....)Well that's alright then!
Actually, hope you haven't been over doing things! You don't seem to be getting any cycling a the moment. Are you still able to get your walks?
I'm not too bad thanks, although I've decided not to do my Christmas card delivery cycle ride until the weekend. I need to take it easy and catch up at home.
How are the moving and travel plans?
I'm still on my way up.......it's likely I'll pass Potsy who is definitely on his way down![]()
Well done. Good luck andI over did things badly last week, but we always knew it was going to take a lot out of me. cycling - its rather difficult at the moment. I am walking someone elses dog. He has a heart condition and doesn't have long to live. If I stop walking him he is going to deteriorate rapidly (as he did last week when I was away) and well my cycling mojo is missing at the moment. I need my OH to get my mtb down from upstairs for me so I can try riding it along the whitegate way. He says he will and has been saying that since October... I'm still waiting. There is not a lot I can do. I haven't fancied riding the trike recently. I get really down about the lack of speed in it and my knees were hurting me badly. I have bought some pedal spacers but by the time my OH actually fitted them (4 weeks after they arrived), I had already lost my mojo. I'm hoping Christmas week will help to find it again!
I read something the other week about how people get this kind of second wind at the age of 55, you and wimps must be full of energyI'm still on my way up.......it's likely I'll pass Potsy who is definitely on his way down![]()
I only get my second wind after eating one of Vernon's pies.
By the way, I might be wrong but I don't think Hils is quite 55 yet![]()
