Just had a M&S King Orange. Thick pith, quite juicy, quite sweet...quite nice.
First time packing in the UK, took us ages to set the machine up, so many adjustments and settings...and we'll have to unset it tomorrow to revert to the usual pack. :banghead:

On Monday a guy on the shop floor said 'I bet it is nice in the office, winding down for the week', I replied that 'no actually, not us 2 in the accounts dept-we cannot wind down we have to continue upto the last day' he seemed surprised so I had to explain that everyone wanted to be paid on the 24th, our suppliers wanted paying etc..... so no we don't have time to chill out this week.
We have to get our time sheets in early at the end of November so that they sort it all out before next week.

I've been grocery shopping twice today... This morning we drove around the car park and then left.... There were actually people queuing for parking spaces so I didn't like to think how busy the store would be. Tonight we went back for round two, and it was bliss, hardly anybody there, got almost everything on the list and a couple of last minute presents.

I had a bad nights sleep.... Waiting for the eldest summerling to return home from the pub, which turned into all back to mates house. Eventually I heard the key in the lock at 3:45! When they are away at uni I don't worry in the same way, though the howling wind didn't help!

Morning Summerdays, time to get junior out of bed, or at least hoover the landing, bashing the bedroom door as you go.

Off to work for a couple of hours of socialising and samosas then we're done.

Much as I enjoy the mental image that creates but I would have to deal with their bad mood on top of my lack of sleep!

I can sympathise. It's happened 3 times in the last week with No 1 son. He's with us until 6 Jan when he flies out to Botswana. He's perfectly able to take care of himself but it's the anticipation of that key in the door that keeps me awake. We'll miss him hugely when he's gone - although I won't miss the disturbed nights.
I don't begrudge them the evening with friends, in the summer I didn't feel they made enough effort to keep in touch with local friends so it's good that they have seen various different friends this holiday. They were very quiet when they came in, just wish I wasn't as worried ... There wasn't any reason to be... Just a clucky parent wanting to keep her chicks safe.

Peace is restored in this household by Monday 4th when all three are either back in uni or starting school. Then I'll look forward to the next holiday:whistle:
