I would guess Jodrell Bank would maybe have been put in an area of less radio pollution, like optical observatories are in areas of less light pollution.

It was built in the 50s when the airwaves were much less conjested. The site belongs to Manchester University and was chosen because it is the nearest bit of flat land close to Manchester (20 miles or so) that did not suffer with light polution

Morning. We have been looking for places to go to for our welding anniversary and I think we will need a holiday just from looking.
We had thought about the Isle of Wight, but that seems to be a bit of a logistical night mare. We did a day trip there on our honeymoon, first trip on a hovercraft, and then a coach trip around the island to Alum bay.
I didn't know that you could refine your searches for places to stay by selecting piano!
