Gales and intermittent rain showers
Mail arrived about midday but must have been left over from yesterday as the Post Office would never get round to sending vans over earlier than usual. They normally come over on a ferry about 1100 from Oban.
Mail not too good as demand for car tax by the end of this month which says £180 but it is always higher. Not bothered to check the new amount as I have to pay it regardless. I notice they do not offer the Post Office as a place to pay as they did in the past.
I always pay at the PO on the basis of " use it or lose it".
The other letter tells me that my tax code has changed so I will have more tax deducted at source. They give me more state pension with one hand and grab it back with the other.
Calmac are going to try one return run Craignure/Oban but only with a light load. No heavy goods and limited number of cars.
In the past the bigger ferries used to go north round the island of Lismore and then turn south to take the worst of the swell on bow or stern and sheltered a lot of the way by Lismore.
Tomorrow looks worse with higher wind speed forecast.

Madam Lexi has forgiven me, I think, given that she's firmly ensconced on my lap.
We've paid on line ever since it came in paying at the last minute came in handy back then when we had no money.
We've just paid ours the reminder has not yet gone in shedder. Thought I'd check what ours says and it's true post office is not listed. But if you follow the link to other ways to apply. Post office is still listed and it tells you want to do.

Yes I did check that the Post Office is still listed. Not somewhere I go often nowadays but in the past I found them best for sending our business parcels of up to the maximum of 30kg.
