Earlier this evening I went out into the back garden and there were at least 50 snails advancing towards the building. If they're attacking I should be safe for a few hours. Meanwhile, can any snail savants/escargotologists tell me why they're on the move when it's not raining?

Check them to see if there's any with little yellow dots on the shell - they may be on holiday from @biggs682 's place

The furthest they have got so far is two gardens away

Having saved money yesterday mending the washing machine that's about to go, and more. My PC's hard drive blew last month and the back-up drive wouldn't work. Turns out our surge protector device isn't protecting.

The data off the back-up's recoverable but it'll be £200 as it goes onto a 1TB external hard drive. At least I've not lost everything over the past 20 years, although I'll have a bit from the past few months.

If you're having trouble reading the disk Spinrite is a good option.

64knts at the moment...

Sheesh, that's some yacht! Time to put another reef in the main, I reckon.

A warm, sort-of-sunny and increasingly blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

I slept well (nearly 10 hours) and feel decidedly more chipper today. Have done a bit of vacuuming, have done some writing and I've spent a good bit of time in the kitchen doing prep for tonight's supper. Reason being, Arsenal are playing at half five, and I'll want to sit down and listen to that.

Madam Lexi is not happy with me as I trod on her earlier while I was getting her chicken from the fridge. She's perfectly fine, just a little bit put out. Fortunately I wear crocs in the house.

Had a lovely luncheon of an egg mayonnaise sandwich, an apple, a pear and two :cuppa:

Well I managed to tread on the dog while making flapjacks so getting the side eye when I walk past at the moment 😁

Quite stormy here, with some horrible showers, although nowhere as bad as the forecast predicted.

I washed the car and gave the interior a quick clean. I probably really should do something with the flaking lacquer on the roof. It's got much worse over the winter and looks the car has some sort of horrible skin disease.

My inspection also revealed the bulb has gone in the reversing light. Otherwise, I don't see anything untoward but the test next weekend will reveal all.
