I now have a nearly complete, self assembly, kit for a Raleigh Sport 300.
The garage has been full of neat piles of various parts and assemblies. Mostly reassembled after cleaning and inspection

Bits are on order. Assorted ball bearings and bits to service (fix) the cassette.
No idea how old the chain is. Also lack the means to quickly see how worn it is.

Been out to collect a bike that's been in a crash to look at. It's a bit of a mess. Unlike me on Friday, where I took the brunt of it, the bike has in this case and the rider was OK.

you sure? I'm not sure I understand that 2nd sentence. maybe I was in a crash. so you're biking w/ that finger? any issues?

On Friday I hit a post with my left hand. The injured finger is on the right fortunately.

And yes, I'm riding and have been very carefully for the past two months. I'm cleared to start racing again from the end of June.

In terms of issues I'm struggling a bit with dexterity, so the shifter angle is raised slightly. Also I can't ride too far yet as the vibrations make the finger hurt, as does hitting any potholes.

Hopefully you're recovering with a similar operation?

Get a grip, be sensible, listen to your body.
Pushing through the pain is stupid.

This is an investment, if you don't look after it now it will pay dividends.

Be strong, but sensible!
Otherwise, after a while ibuprofen does not work.

Take things easy. My little finger which I hurt over a month or so ago is finally easing so long as I don't knock it. I can grip things but not fully. Trying to put my hand into gloves or into my pocket still has to be done carefully.

The scratches I picked up on Saturday thanks to a shirty entire BSH are healing nicely, no sign of any infection thank goodness. Only one of them is still quite painful, but it was pretty deep. Another judge got bit by a car a couple of pens down.

Now sat down with a chocolate muffin and a :cuppa:
