Today I've been retired for two years - ! ^_^
And I celebrated by washing several dozen cat dishes and then most of the day trimming & tidying the grass in the two large compounds all ready for our sanctuary open day on Sunday.
As the sanctuary is located out in the sticks, I can thing of a lot worse things to do and places to be - ! :okay:

It's been a grey, but warm, humid and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough. A choresy morning again, the highlight of which was chopping up the last three Seville oranges as they were looking a bit tired, and sticking the prepared fruit in the freezer. All that's left of the marmaladables is five red oranges, but those are going to be turned into marmalade after the weekend. It'll be the perfect thing to do on a rainy afternoon.

Had a lovely luncheon of grilled Hawaiian toast, fruit and a :cuppa:

The afternoon was spent carrying on with the gardening that I started yesterday. I made really good progress. One more afternoon should see the tangle of ivy and cherry tree branches cleared up.

Now sat having a :cuppa: and watching the evening news.

Oh, and the Paul Warwick print that I repatriated from Australia has arrived. :wahhey:

I'm now going to have fun trying to find out who the photographer is - I know everything else about it. Looking at the image, I suspect it is from the sequence where a very similar panned photo was used to make the poster Paul signed at race meetings, and that was then also used as a centre spread in Autosport.

I initially thought it was the same photo, but now think it is the next frame in the sequence, as the car has only moved like a foot...

Having spent an hour and a half doing nothing while sat in the deck chair this afternoon, I went indoors to cook tea only to find out that I'd forgotten to remove the sausages from the freezer. Tea therefore became just half a pack of Jersey Royal potatoes and a tin of peas.

I've spent the evening working on the Reynard 893 drawing. And a drawing it will stay, as I've decided to do it in coloured pencils as opposed to getting the paints out. That way, I've got more control over the awkward bits.

May have bitten off more than I can chew with this one, so am proceeding with caution. If it works out, I'll be using it to make a very special card later in the year.

2 lane parkway. traffic going 60ish? hilly & twisty. witnessed a near miss car vs very young deer, right in front of me, I'm in left lane. the car 4 lengths ahead of me in the right lane slowed down just enough, & the little deer turned around just fast enough & it just walked back toward the shoulder & guard rail. I blew my horn & an 18 wheeler behind me in the right lane locked up it's brakes so they smoked & it skidded sideways a tiny bit. but after that split second freak out, everyone just kept on rolling, including the big rig. here's hoping the little guy stays away during traffic hours
