Newish, yes. Too old for the shop to take it back, of course.

I also have an extra protective screen. I don't see why that would suddenly be a problem though.
Any idea how the card managed to slide out of the card holder?

It's now spitting and leaving diagonal backslash splashes on the window pane. I gather it's raining a little more heavily a couple of miles west over at the Oval where West Indies are playing the final one-day international. Or were playing because it's now rain stopped play. This is after a period of traffic stopped play, because the Windies arrived late at the ground.
If the windies were late arriving, how did they start the game in order to stop it due to them arriving late because of traffic?

Quantum, I expect, or possibly the same force that causes printers to stop working whenever I'm within 10 metres of them. At the moment the card seems happy wherever it's got itself stuck, and the phone is working. I expect this to continue until I need to make a vaguely important call.

Truly awful evening but I managed to make it to the supermarket and back between showers. There's about an inch of water on my balcony as the drainage hole must need cleared yet again.

I had a nice peaceful day at work in my home office. I suppose I better go to bedlam the office tomorrow. I am actually far more productive at home.

The postman came bearing the gift of a letter from the old enemy, the taxman. It appears that I owe almost €500 for the tax year of 2021. Something to do with the several months I was on sick pay due to smashing my ankle.

A mostly grey and very blustery day here chez Casa Reynard, with not much in the way of forecast rain.

Slept well, but still feel run down. Had a quiet morning darning a hole in my favourite pair of work jeans. Not quite finished the job, but at least I can now wear the jeans without any danger of the hole getting bigger.

Had a light luncheon of avocado on toast and a :cuppa:

Watered my planters this afternoon on account of them being bone dry. Also put the mince I bought on Saturday in the freezer. I thought it was lamb, but turned out to be organic beef. Whoops! In my defence, the labels on both are green...

Also did some good work on my writing.

Cooked a pork & veg stir fry with noodles for supper.

Now just planning on a quiet evening.

Change of plan for the afternoon - I did go out to get some butter, but used the ebike for its extra weight to give stability in the breeze and the electric assistance to counter the headwind. The walk was saved for a quick early evening podcast length stroll of just over 2.5 miles.

The second band of rain also fizzled out before it got here and all we ended up with was a coupe of very light rain showers, a heck of a lot of breeze and a chilly day.

After my comment this morning regarding the lack of returns from ERNIE, I've put in a request for my holding to be cashed in and I'm going to stick the lot into an easy access savings account to give a guaranteed return. These are my 'emergency' funds (thankfully not been needed yet) and I might as well get something out of them.

On the 2nd June 1975 snow stopped play between Lancashire and Derbyshire in Buxton.
