It's been a cool and very soggy day here chez Casa Reynard, with some rain being of biblical proportions. Currently not raining.
Sleep was middling at best. I was very restless for the first half of the night, and I wasn't warm enough, so had to give in and go for a hot water bottle. Been feeling a bit meh all day as a result. It was a day for indoor stuff. I had a kitchen morning, doing the prep for tonight's supper and loading the crock pot. I also hard boiled four eggs to make a tub of egg mayo sandwich filling.
A lovely luncheon of toast with brie and cranberry sauce, an apple, the last banana and a
Then back into the kitchen. Did some more prep, and dealt with the giant bag of spinach that I bought last week. It was still fine. I washed and cooked half, and that's now in the fridge. I'll pop it in the freezer tomorrow. The rest will be used for various this week, including some eggs florentine at some point.
After watching Antiques Road Trip (a new series), it was off to Littleport to drop off the parental's prescription. I went by car as I had no desire to cycle. Also stopped off in the Co-op on the way home to pick up four pints of milk - yes they're spendy in there, but it would save me a trip into town. Only they didn't have any whole milk other than 2 pints of organic for £2 (ouch!) and 2 litres of filtered for £3.25 (double ouch!). So walked out empty-handed and backtracked to the little independent shop a couple of blocks away. Two litres of whole milk was had for £1.75.
Just waiting for supper to finish cooking.
