Gas boiler has been serviced and given a clean bill of health, the engineer recons it's in good condition so I won't need to treat myself to a new one for a while.

While waiting for him to arrive I stuck a load of washing in the machine which has just started the spin cycle and went out and washed the car. Given that since then there's been yet another rain shower, the washing may not be put out on the line to dry and the car now needs polishing.

Early Carey was pretty good, later Carey slapped so much ornament into her voice it was hard to recall that she was a fine singer underneath it all.
