A number of our teachers tended to favour chalk and the board rubber. Mr Fairhurst our chemistry teacher and deputy head weapon of choice was a metre rule. Mr tomes geography had a very unique way of dealing with really disruptive ones. He use to grab them by the elbow and held them in a sort of Vulcan nerve pinch. Can see my mate now going week and the knees squirming on the floor before he'd let go. I have to say both him and Mr Fairhurst really did care about the kids and went way over board to help anyone. Long before pastoral was different dept.
Good morning from Suffolk where it's one of those nothing sort of starts to the day - not really cloudy, not sunny, just 'meh'. Even the rain seems to have run out of enthusiasm while heading this way and has stayed out to the west.
Coffee has been had while catching up with the news and next up is a little bit of tidying up/weeding out front of the house. No plans for the afternoon as yet.
sorry for your family's loss. my Father's passing 3 years ago was far reaching. the story telling was a surprising highlight & immensely cathartic for everyone. thinking we should refer to some funerals as a commencement, meaning, now we must begin to live without
Wake was awkward when my father passed, for a few minutes, as we usually counted on my father for some stories and humor and usual wake goings-on. Somehow I pulled it together and served that function, and the duty passed to me.
